Update on Marjean Fish

Marjean had a bad reaction to the pain meds that they were giving her, and she was not able to do the rehab work that was needed to be able to go home.  So we had to put her in a rehab facility (Friday afternoon) till she is able to get herself to the point that she will be allowed to come home.  She cannot bend her leg very much and is not able to walk real well, but they are hopeful that it will come around.

Thank you for praying and please do continue to pray for her.

President’s Pen

I want to thank all of you who have been praying for me as I have gone through both of my hip surgeries.  I am recovering from the second surgery and I am already feeling better than I have for a couple of years.  The Lord has blessed Sandy and me through this experience.  I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming spring district meetings.   The Ohio Executive board held a joint board meeting with the otherOhioboards in March.  I was unable to attend because of my surgery, but I was informed that the meeting went well.  The boards were able to review their individual commitments to serving the Lord in Christian Union.  The Youth board is planning a spring retreat as well as the various summer camps.  Plans for the fall council are being finalized.  We will send out details about Ohio Council when they are completed.  I hope that everyone has a great Easter celebration as we honor our Lord Jesus Christ.

A Note from Thelma Knechtly

During a time like this we realize how much our friends and relatives really mean to us… Your expression of sympathy will always be remembered.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Your gift of the picture and beautiful, touching poem, given in memory of Alva is greatly appreciated.  The poem, “The Broken Chain” is comforting; in the last line it says, “As God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.”  We have a blessed hope of being reunited with our loved ones who have trusted Christ as their Savior.

We were blessed to have been at Wamsley C.U. and enjoyed being a part of your organization.

May God bless you all in your labor for Him.

Subject: Update on Rev. George Hoskins

To: Christian Union ohiocu@gmail.com

Sunny,

I just returned from the hospital inLimaand wanted to inform those who know Rev. George Hoskins that he is not doing very well.  He has a very bad infection that has spread throughout his body and the antibiotics are not doing the job they are suppose to do.  The decision was made yesterday afternoon to keep him comfortable.  All life support equipment has been removed.  Hospice is to talk with the family later this afternoon and a decision will be made on him staying in the hospital or going to a rest home.

Please pray for Rev. Hoskins and his wife Ilo and their extended families in this difficult time.

Rev. Gary Fish

Jan. 10, 2012 – Please keep in your prayers Marcus & Linda Tolle.  Linda has found out that she has breast cancer.  She will be having chemo for the next 2-3 months and then have a double mastectomy.

Please pray for Linda and also pray for their finances and transportation.

Ernie Lawson  – Jan. 9, 2012 -

Lisa is very ill and I spend all my nonworking hours caring for her. We no longer have her insurance which covered all meds. I  have taken out the policy my employer offers but it is not very good. It comes with a $5000.00 deductible and 80/20 on medication. I pray that this situation will change but until them caring for her and working pretty well consumes my time and resources.
