MAY 2011
HEATH Pastor Neal Skiles
Greetings from Heath, Ohio.
We are looking ahead to Mother’s Day in May, Father’s Day in June and our Sunday School Picnic also in June.
God watched over us in April when bad storms blew through. We had minor damage to the church roof and the electric was off for two days, but nothing major. PTL!
Sadly we lost one of our older members in April. Mary Dennis Angle went home to be with her Lord. She had been in a nursing home for several years but until the end she had a smile for anyone who came to see her.
Many of our church attendees are growing spiritually and there is a sweet spirit there. May God continue to bless each and every one of you in these last days. -Sherry DeVault, Reporter

Blessings Mem. Pastor Jim Vanover
“Under Construction—Due to a growing congregation, Blessings is remodeling and enlarging its current facilities. Pastor Jim Vanover and church members have knocked down walls to expand the sanctuary to add seating for forty more. Plans for the sanctuary include repainting, a raised altar area, new carpet, and new chairs for additional seating. Once the sanctuary area is completed, work will begin on adjacent space that has been rented. This space will provide a kitchen and new meeting area for teens. Bob Eaton
Pray for Pastor Jim Vanover. He fell off a ladder last week and broke rib among other injuries.

“Dear Treasurer:
” It is with great joy Scioto valley Christian Union church is sending this check for $1000 to the Dorm Match funds to help pay for renovations of the boy’s dorm at the Greenfield Camp-ground. We received an offering on Sunday, February 20, for this purpose. Out of our small congregation (26 in attendance) plus a generous gift from an anonymous donor, we received $963 to which we added from our general fund to bring the total to $1000.
“Church camps are a wonderful experience for our young people, many of whom may not otherwise be exposed to the salvation plan. Our prayer is that God will abundantly bless this project and all the youth who attend and participate in the activities there. In His Service, Barbara Swisher, Treasurer “
Hello from Heath Church – Pastor Neal Skiles
This has been an exciting month for us. We had one lady healed from heart and cancer problems; one, who after 35 years of not being able to forgive herself of a particular sin, prayed through and is free, and one who took a nasty fall on the concrete in front of the church, and was stove up on her left side but had no broken bones. The Lord is good all the time–All the time the Lord is good.
We are looking forward to the Easter season. We set up a ‘work day’ every year just before Easter to clean the church from top to bottom and front to back. It is a time for work and fellowship. It is surprising how you can get to know someone by working side by side with them, especially doing the Lord’s work.
Looking forward to seeing what the Lord has for us next. –Sherry DeVault
